Call for submissions for Christmas newspapers
Calling student writers and artists! Penobscot Bay Press would like submissions of art and writings from area children in its 10-town coverage area (Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Deer Isle, Isle au Haut, Penobscot, Sedgwick, Stonington and Surry) for the annual holiday issues published December 21.
“As we have done in the past,” said PBP coordinator Caroline Spear in a press release, “we’ve notified all area schools, but this year we’ve decided to announce an open invitation in addition to the schools.”
“And, new this year, we welcome submissions from students in kindergarten through eighth grade.” The cut-off used to be sixth grade.
Penobscot Bay Press will choose from among all submissions to print in the newspapers and on its websites.
The theme is “What Christmas and the holidays mean to me.”
Writing on the theme should be 20 lines or less.
Artwork can be done in markers, crayons, paint and/or colored pencils on white paper.
Computer-generated artwork is accepted.
PBP will scan artwork up to
8.5 x 11 inches and also accepts scans of artwork in high resolution.
Photographs of artwork will not be accepted.
