Surry roadside cleanup volunteers to receive Pugnuts gift card

The annual roadside cleanup in Surry is set for Saturday, May 1. Each year the event is organized by the Surry Community Improvement Association. This year the Surry Celebrates Maine 200 committee (the town bicentennial committee) is also providing support.

Volunteers should come to the Surry School to pick up supplies and sign up for a section of roadside. Trash bags, gloves and tick spray will be provided. The cleanup is from 8 a.m. to noon. If necessary, the rain date is Sunday, May 2. Accumulated trash and debris left on Surry roadsides will be picked up and taken to the transfer station.

Volunteer participants will receive a gift card for free ice cream at the noted Pugnuts Ice Cream Shop.
