Peninsula farms featured in book

Unique Maine Farms, a book by Maine writer, photographer and certified teacher Mary Quinn Doyle includes 11 stories that focus on farms or agricultural endeavors that are located in the Penobscot Bay area, according to a news release.

These farms include Clayfield Farm in East Blue Hill, Horsepower Farm in Penobscot, Yellow Birch Farm and Deer Isle Hostel in Deer Isle, Sunset Acres Farm & Dairy and Sow’s Ear Winery in Brooksville, Five Star Nursery and Orchard in Brooklin, Haight Farm in Blue Hill, Mandala Farm in Orland, Leafsong Family Flower Farm in Bucksport, and Rainbow Farm in Franklin.

The book profiles 178 Maine farms and contains 440 color photographs. Unique Maine Farms is scheduled to be printed in September. Information about pre-ordering can be found at uniquemainefarms.com.
