REQUEST FOR BIDS

Snow Removal School Union 76 is seeking bids to supply Snow Removal, sanding and plowing services to Deer Isle-Stonington CSD #13 Schools, Sedgwick School, and/or Brooklin School for the 2015-2016 school year. Interested parties may contact the Superintendent’s Office at 207-348-9100 for bid sheets. Sealed bids will be received at the School Union 76 Office in Deer Isle, ME until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The School Committees reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to accept other than the low bid in the best interest of the schools. School Union 76 schools are equal opportunity employers.


STONINGTON BIDS

Winter Sand – Town of Stonington requests bids for supplying 1,800 yards. Sand must meet state MDOT specifications. Bid packages are available at the Town Office. Send bids by Monday, September 14, 2015, 4 p.m. to: Town of Stonington, P.O. Box 9, Stonington ME 04681, 367-2351. Selectmen may reject any or all bids at their sole discretion.

Storm Debris Disposal Notice: Due to the recent storm, Castine residents can dispose of any storm debris, free of charge, at the Transfer Station. If you have any questions, please contact the Town Office at 326-4502. Nomination Papers: Nomination papers are available as of August 10, 2015 for the offices of Select- man/Assessor & Overseer of the Poor (3-yr term); School Board (3-yr term); and Library Board of Trustees (5-yr term). Nomination papers filing deadline is Friday, September 18, 2015.
2015 Tax Bills: Tax bills have been mailed. The due date is September 18. Interest will start to accrue after September 18.
Backshore Saltwater Pond: Grand Re-Opening Pot Luck on Labor Day, September 7 at Noon. Come cool off, bring your lunch and charcoal, use the grilles to cook out, visit with friends & enjoy the Backshore Pond, newly refurbished courtesy of The Hatch Community Youth Fund.
Mandatory Water Conservation Order: The Mandatory Water Conservation Order will be effective immediately and we ask all Castine Water Department customers (and private well users) to limit day consumption in bathing, dishwashing, laundry and general usage. Watering lawns & gardens, filling swimming pools and washing any vehicles, including boats, is strictly prohibited.
