Bid Request: The Town of Castine is accepting bids for a 2002 40HP two-stroke Yamaha motor that was once on the Harbormaster boat. Still runs and can be inspected at Emerson Hall. The deadline for sealed bids will be Thursday, June 30th and can be dropped off to the Town Office or mailed to: PO Box 204, Castine Maine 04421, labeled “Yamaha Motor”.
4th of July Festivities: 5K Race starting at 8 a.m. at the Castine Visitors Center (fundraiser to benefit The Learning Tree); Children’s Costume Parade at 10 a.m. at the Town Common with other activities & refreshments to follow; Town Band performs at 4 p.m. on the Town Common; David Raitt & The Maine Line performs from 7-9 p.m. on the Town Dock prior to FIREWORKS.

The Town of Deer Isle will hold a Special Town Meeting on Thursday June 30, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Deer Isle Town Hall to see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to negotiate, sign, and execute necessary documents to enter a multi-year contractual agreement with a vendor for the Town’s municipal solid waste (MSW) disposal needs under such terms and conditions as the Board of Selectmen in its sole discretion deems to be in the best interest of the Town.
