Street Sweeping: The final phase of Street sweeping will be completed by the end of this week, weather permitting. Please DO NOT sweep large debris, sticks, branches and piles into the roads.
Annual Spring Clean-up: Starting May 1 for the month, Castine residents, will be able to take yard debris to the Transfer Station and dispose of, free of charge. Please see the Transfer Station attendant when disposing of any debris. Flushing Hydrants: The Water Dept will be flushing hydrants during Thursday, 5/11-Tuesday, 5/23. We appreciate your patience.

Pursuant to 36 M.R.S.A §942 & §557A, I, Myra P. Weed, Tax Collector of the Municipality of Deer Isle, in the State of Maine, hereby give notice that the following taxes duly and legally committed to me on June 30, 2016, and assessed to Owner Unknown, remain unpaid:
Map 3, Lot 30-5 Off Sunset Road (4 Acres more or less). Tax $31.50, Interest $1.50, $3 demand fee, Cert. Mail $32.95 Total $68.95
Map 24, Lot 8 Off North Deer Isle Road (.4 Acres more or less). Tax $16.80, Interest $.80, $3 demand fee, Cert. Mail $32.95. Total $53.55
A lien is hereby claimed on the above-described real estate to secure payment of the tax. Payment of said tax is hereby demanded within 30 days of the date of this notice. TOWNOFDEERISLE
The Selectmen of Town of Deer Isle will hold a hearing to discuss change of government from Selectmen to Town Manager plan. Hearing will be held June 8, at 7 p.m., in the Deer Isle Town Hall. The vote on the change of government in Deer Isle will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. by secret ballot.


TOWNOFDEERISLE
Town of Deer Isle will be doing culvert replacement at Torrey Brook on the Reach Rd. The road will be closed at Torrey Brook May 31 to June 1, 2017, no thru traffic.

Public Hearings: May 22, 2017, 6 p.m. and May 31, 2017, 6 p.m. -discussion of proposed Surry fire department expansion and transferring of funds for Surry School books and transportation.
