The right candidate must be willing to learn and work with ADS Profund and PowerSchool, school related software. Duties would include providing support on Apple and Windows and to help maintain the School Union 93 website. Hours are flexible. Solid understanding of Apple and Windows operating systems is desired, or willingness to learn. $20/hour.

FRIENDS OF BLUE HILL BAY Shore Inventory Project Manager, Citizen Science. The purpose of this project is to reach out into the community on behalf of Friends of Blue Hill Bay, to involve volunteers in hands-on citizen science and enable people to deepen an appreciation for marine shores in our area. Volunteers, especially children with their teachers and classmates, will monitor intertidal clam flat habitat. Baseline data on species present and soft shell clam thickness is gathered at multiple sites. Hands-on activities related to ocean acidification, climate change and green crab impacts are investigated and discussed with students. Data, collected by students and volunteers on data sheets, will be reviewed and made available online through the Friends of Blue Hill Bay website. This portion of the website will be developed by the manager. The manager will work with area teachers to set up school visits to public access shores, coordinate classroom visits and assist teachers with lesson possibilities and extensions. Manager will attend all field trips. In the near term this job will involve approximately 15 hours/week with an immediate start. Initial activity will include drawing up a plan with teachers this summer and scouting beaches to be surveyed with volunteers in September-October. Sites on the western side of Blue Hill Bay were monitored in 2014. 2015 data collection should include the eastern shores. The manager will provide his/her own computer, internet access and car for travel in southern Hancock County. The manager will be expected to assist FoBHB in seeking grant funding.
