In Maine, first comes winter, then mud season followed closely (and sometimes overlapped) by frost heave and pothole season. It’s currently pothole season.

As the roads move, many area residents may wonder which state roads will see work in the coming year. The Maine Department of Transportation keeps a three-year improvement plan on file that shows the work slated for the state-maintained roads in the coming years—searchable and viewable in various formats at maine.gov. Below are projects scheduled for the next three years, beginning with 2019, and they include a variety of road maintenance and some paving. While 2019 projects are in the various stages of bidding and organization, projects in 2020 and 2021 are less certain.
