Nomination papers for open seats still available

With about two weeks left before nominations close for town elections, there are still open seats in Blue Hill and Brooklin that no one has taken out papers for.

In Blue Hill, Jim Dow and Henry Elliott have taken out papers for a three-year term as selectman, currently held by Jim Schatz, who has said he does not plan to run. Incumbent Henrietta Clews has taken out papers for a three-year term on the planning board. Papers have not been taken out for a second planning board seat currently held by Fernald Leach. Incumbent Jan Snow has taken out and returned papers for a three-year term on the school board.

Nomination papers are available at the Blue Hill Town Office and must be returned by February 18.

In Brooklin, as of January 29, no one has taken out papers for a three-year term as selectman, a seat currently held by Laura Sherman. J. Michael Thalhauser and Nicholas Carter have taken out papers for three-year terms on the school board, currently held by Emily Blair Stribling and Libby Chamberlain. Incumbent Neil Allen has taken out papers for a one-year term as road commissioner, and incumbent Heather Candage has taken out and returned papers for a three-year term as town clerk.

Nomination papers are available at the Brooklin Town Office and must be returned by February 14.
