Blue Hill & Brooklin

Nominations open in Blue Hill, Brooklin

With town elections slated for early spring, Blue Hill and Brooklin have nomination papers available for anyone wishing to run for elected office. Papers must be signed by not fewer than 25 nor more than 100 citizens of the town in which a candidate wishes to run.

Blue Hill

Nomination papers have been available since December 28 and must be returned to the town office by February 18. Voting will be on Friday, April 5, with the business portion of town meeting on Saturday, April 6, at 9 a.m. Open seats are:

Selectman, one three-year term; seat currently held by James Schatz, who has said he does not plan to run.

School Board, one three-year term; seat currently held by Janice Snow.

Planning Board, three-year terms; two seats currently held by Fernald Leach and Henrietta Clews.

Brooklin

Nominations open on January 3, with papers available at the town office. They must be returned by February 14. Voting will be held on Friday, April 5, with the business portion of town meeting beginning 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. Open seats are:

Selectman, three-year term; seat currently held by Laura Sherman.

School Board, three-year term; two seats currently held by Emily Blair Stribling and Libby Chamberlain.

Road Commissioner, one-year term; currently held by Neil Allen.

Tax Collector, three-year term; currently held by Heather Candage.
