Contested selectman’s race shapes up in Blue Hill

by Anne Berleant

Voters will have a choice of candidates to fill a three-year term as selectman in Blue Hill. Adam Gray and James Dow have both returned nomination papers for the seat currently held by James Schatz, who is not seeking reelection.

But for two three-year planning board seats, only incumbent Henrietta Clews has returned papers. Fernald Leach, whose term is also up, is not seeking reelection.

School Board Chairman Janice Snow seeks to return for another three-year term; she is the sole candidate in that race.

Town elections will be held on Friday, April 5, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at town hall, with the results announced when the business portion of town meeting opens at 9 a.m. the following morning, Saturday, April 6, at Blue Hill Consolidated School.
