Haystack awards scholarships to peninsula students

Phoebe Zildjian receives Haystack scholarship

Haystack Mountain School of Crafts has announced in a news release that this year’s full scholarships for two area students for each to attend a two-week session during the 2019 summer season, have been awarded. The Irving Sherman Scholarship, for an area student or recent graduate, was awarded to Margot Entwisle of Sedgwick and the Golden Rule Scholarship, for a former participant in Haystack’s Student Craft Institute, for area high school students, was awarded to Phoebe Zildjian of Castine.

Zildjian participated in the Session 2 Wood workshop Stacks, Slats, and Bundles, taught by Heath Matysek-Snyder. Entwisle will be taking the fiber workshop Around the World with Natural Color, which will be taught by Kathy Hattori during Session 5, August 11-23.
