Hammond Lumber has announced the acquisition of EBS Building Supplies, effective June 27.

The company plans to keep all 10 EBS locations, giving it a combined 21 locations, including one in Blue Hill, and 800 employees, according to a press release from Hammond Lumber owner, Mike Hammond. The family-owned business, now in its 65th year, will close two of its smallest Hammond stores: Pemiquid and Wilton, merging the staff into existing locations nearby.

According to news from the company, hours at EBS locations will remain unchanged and it will “continue to operate business as usual with a retail hardware-oriented focus with employees who have knowledge and experience to provide excellent customer service.”

Questions about the acquisition can be addressed to Mike Hammond at or 207-479-1116.
