Sedgwick Fire Dept. revs up for 17th annual car show

The Sedgwick Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 17th show of automobiles old, new and classic on Saturday, July 7. The event is a major annual fundraiser for the department and fills the fairgrounds with mint cars, trucks and motorcycles and their proud owners.

The gates open at 9 a.m., rain or shine; registration is from 8 a.m. to noon. Trophies and prizes are announced before the show ends at 3 p.m.

Trophies include first, second and third place in a slew of different classes, from pre- and post-1932 cars to models from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond. Special categories include Camaro/Firebird, Mustang, Corvette, Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Mopars, pre-1950 trucks and trucks 1960 to present, motorcycles, and foreign/import cars. A trophy is also awarded for Best in Show.

Food concessions, a raffle and a 50/50 drawing round out the day’s entertainment. The event is sponsored in part by the Blue Hill Fair Association.
