Nomination papers circulate in Peninsula towns

Nomination papers are in process in Blue Hill, Brooklin and Surry and will be due back in the coming weeks. As of press time:

In Surry, William Matlock has taken out papers for a three-year term on the board of selectmen.

Michelle Berger has taken out and returned papers for a three-year seat on the school board.

Ralph Topham has taken out papers for both school board and board of selectmen but has yet to return either. (He can only turn in one.)

Papers are due back February 16.

In Blue Hill, Vaughn Leach has returned papers for a three-year seat on the board of selectmen.

Ben Wootten and Tina Allen have taken out papers for two three-year seats on the school board.

Mary Alice Hurvitt has taken out papers for a three-year seat on the planning board. There are two more open three-year seats available.

Papers are due back February 21.

In Brooklin, Bill Cohen has returned papers for a three-year seat on the board of selectmen.

Neil Allen has returned papers for a one-year term as road commissioner.

Tammy Andrews has taken out papers for a three-year term as treasurer.

Paige Morse has taken out papers for a three-year seat on the school board, and another seat is available.

Nominations close on February 15.
