Recent college graduate, substitute teacher, and Penobscot native Gavin Rogers was hired to teach in the middle school. He is young, energetic, and wicked smart.

Former Machias High School art teacher Laura Osgood is returning to education after taking time away to raise her children (and some alpacas).
While Miss Paige is away on maternity leave, Surry School alumni Kaitlyn Kinney will be her long-term sub in second grade.
There is a transformation taking place in special education at Surry. Two special education teachers were hired: Lynda Kane and Eric Davis. Together, with special education director Karen Watts, we are creating a plan for special education at Surry that will meet each child’s needs.
