Campus work day scheduled in Sedgwick

by Monique Labbe

Staff, families and volunteers will band together for a campus work day at Sedgwick Elementary School on Sunday, August 26. The Parent/Teacher Foundation is hosting the event.

The event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., has several items on the itinerary, including painting lines on the soccer field, weeding the gardens, tending to the raised beds in the greenhouse, cleaning up trash, mowing and weed whacking, replacing the nets on the basketball hoops, and a host of other tasks.

Members of the Parent/Teacher Foundation are looking for various pieces of equipment in order to complete the work throughout the day. Volunteers are urged to help supply buckets, lawn mowers, weed whackers, wheelbarrows, rakes and anything else that might assist the work.

A collection bin will also be out during the work day for things such as balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, sand box toys, Frisbees, sidewalk chalk and anything else students might be able to play with throughout the school year.

Snacks and water will be provided.
