Surry seeks school board candidate before nominations close

by Faith DeAmbrose

There are just three open seats in the town of Surry for municipal and school posts this election cycle. So far, only two have candidates. The deadline to return papers is the close of business Tuesday, March 11.

Incumbent Steve Bemiss has taken out papers for another run at a three-year seat on the board of selectmen.

Incumbent Marlene Tallent has taken out papers for a three-year term on the school board, leaving another three-year term for which no papers have been taken out, as of press time. That seat currently belongs to Patricia Hollenberg, who, according to the town clerk, has not taken out papers.
