Blue Hill’s Seaside Cemetery historic record available

Marilyn Whittlesey spent the past three and a half years documenting the Seaside Cemetery with photos and text, according to a press release.

The Blue Hill Cemeteries Association funded a three-volume book and index including all of her results. The hard copy volumes have been presented to the Blue Hill Historical Society for retention. In addition, the Blue Hill Town Office has the books in electronic form to support research. The Blue Hill Public Library also has the information.

Whittlesey photographed every stone that could be found and provided the inscriptions, including names and dates on each, where legible. The index provides an alphabetic listing by surnames so that grave sites can be located at Seaside. A map will be provided to aid researchers and visitors to find grave stones of interest.
