The annual St. Francis Fair is heading to the Blue Hill Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The area’s largest yard sale, affectionately known as “Junque for Jesus,” will be joined by a new booth this year called “Granny’s Attic.” Toys, games, and a brand new bike will kick off this summer fair which has a lot of focus on children, according to a press release.

A baby basket full of hand knit items and baby gifts—hand-made “works of art”—will be raffled.

Fair Chairman Sarah Everdell said in a press release, “We are honored to have Child and Family Opportunities as our Fair Partner. This wonderful organization not only shares in the profits of the fair, but brings so much talent and help to the fair. St Francis has had a vested interest in CFO’s Head Start program at the Sedgwick school for more than 10 years. We are thrilled for all of the successes of that program, for the children and their parents and the communities of the Blue Hill Peninsula.”

The fair will have thousands of books, jewelry, tools, a doll house and other treasures as well as homemade pies, cakes, breads and cookies. The “Gentlemen Grillers” will ready and waiting to serve lunch. Come early for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and snacks and expect to have a great day of bargain hunting.
