The Eagles varsity girls basketball team clinched a tight win at Bucksport on January 2. Senior Jennifer McKenney was the top scorer with 11 points; freshman Morgan Dauk contributed 10, and juniors Megan Nowland and Alice Dillon each added five. A loss to Orono and a win against Sumner followed, bringing the girls to the 10th spot in the Heal Point standings with a 3-6 record.

The varsity boys team lost to Orono on January 3 with a final score of 66-56, but followed it with a win at home against Sumner on January 7. The Eagles are 4-5 for the season so far. They are on the road for the next two games before returning for a home game next week.

Yang breaks school records

The weather has played havoc with the Eagles swim team schedule, postponing one meet and cancelling their participation in another. However, freshman Eunice Yang posted two school record-breaking races on December 12 against Ellsworth and MDI, finishing the 100 meter breast stroke in 1:14 and the 100 meter freestyle in 58.1. “She had an awesome meet,” said Coach Don Driscoll.
