by Anne Berleant

SEDGWICK—Robbers broke through a front window of the Eggemoggin Country Store early on Wednesday, February 26.

“The entire safe was taken,” said Trooper Daniel Ryan of the Maine State Police. “It’s an extensive burglary.”

The break-in was discovered by an employee who arrived to open the store that morning. Ryan received the report at 3:30 a.m.

“There’s evidence and leads and more information to be developed,” he said when contacted on Thursday, February 27. “It’s ongoing.”

Store owners Dennis and Trisha Robertson were not present the morning the break-in occurred.

“I don’t know anything at this point,” said Dennis Robertson when contact via telephone on Wednesday, February 26, and declined to make any further comment.

Anyone with information on the burglary is encouraged to call the Maine State Police, Troop J, at 866-2121, Ryan said. “All calls will be strictly confidential.”
