Boys soccer: The Eagles continued to roll toward the playoffs rolling over Sumner 3-1 on October 3. Phillip Shaheen and Anthony Bianco scored in the second half to clinch the win; goalkeeper Tim Cousins made 12 saves on 17 shots. The boys followed this with a 3-2 win over Mount Desert Island on October 8, with Beowulf Urban and Phillip Shaheen scoring for the victory. The boys are 8-2-1 for the season, and ranked fifth in the Heal Point Standings.
Girls soccer: The Lady Eagles pulled out a 2-1 win over Bucksport on October 7 for two in a row after scoring 3-0 over Sumner on October 3. Morgan Dauk scored once in both games and Megan Nowland went eight for eight, shutting out Sumner, and 13 out of 14 against Bucksport. The girls are now 5-5-1 and are ranked fifth.
Cross country: The Festival of Champions at Belfast on October 5 netted the Eagles a 28th place finish out of nearly 60 competing schools—besting its 2012 50th place finish. Freshman John Hassett placed sixth and Ollie Dillon placed 11th among 184 freshmen runners, with Hassett clocking in at 17:40.72 for a 89th overall finish. The girls had the fastest average—23:23—since 2003 when they missed winning the state championships by 12 points.
