One school board seat up for grabs in Brooklin

by Faith DeAmbrose

The deadline to have taken and retuned nomination papers for municipal and school board seats expired February 21 and not all the seats have been filled by declared candidates.

Incumbent Stacia Nevin has taken out and returned papers for a three-year seat on the school board, but there is still one open three-year seat on the board, which could be filled by a write-in candidate. If a member is not elected by write-in votes, the school board could appoint a member after the election.

Incumbent Mike Roy will seek reelection to a three-year open seat on the board of selectmen, Neil Allen will seek reelection to a one-year term as road commissioner and Sharon Freethey will seek reelection to a three-year term as tax collector.

Brooklin will hold its town meeting Friday and Saturday, April 5 and 6. Times have yet to be finalized.
