Surry to release nomination papers

Nomination papers for municipal and school positions will be available January 25.

There is one open three-year term as selectman, Assessor and General Assistance administrator. This seat is currently held by Dale Sprinkle.

There are two three-year seats available on the school board. These seats are currently held by Hal Casey and Donald Driscoll.

There is also one open one-year seat on the school board left vacant by the resignation of Jon Walden.

Third party requests and petition submissions for the town warrant must be made by March 6.

All papers must be returned (in person) to the Surry Town Office by 4 p.m. on March 6.

Town meeting will begin with voting on April 19 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the business portion taking place on April 22 at 7 p.m.
