GSA Track has solid showing at Class C State Meet

Members of the George Stevens Academy Track Team participated in the Class C State Meet in Augusta, on Saturday, June 2.

Overall, the boys placed 9th in States, and the girls placed 18th, representing an excellent showing for us, said Coach Erich Reed.

The Boys 4x800 meter relay consisting of Philip Sheehan, Sam Stahnke, River Plouffe Vogel and Ben Plohr placed second and set a school record at 8:31.20.

Plohr also placed second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 40.09 seconds.

Plouffe Vogel placed 6th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:40.06 and 7th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.61.

Stahnke placed 6th in 3200 meter run with a time of 10:15.02.

Paul Ferreira, Sheehan, Plouffe Vogel and Plohr placed 5th in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:43.31.

The Girls 4x800 meter relay team of Amanda Moir, Madison Cole, Alice Dillon, Nicole Bakeman placed 4th overall with a time of 10:45.13

Liana Arquette placed 6th in shot put with a distance of 29- feet 5 inches
