Nomination papers close in Sedgwick, no contested races on the ballot

by Faith DeAmbrose

The time to take out and return nomination papers in Sedgwick for school and municipal seats has come and gone. With the exception of a possible write-in campaign, which can be initiated by any citizen of the town at any time up until election day, the races are not shaping up to be contested.

Victor Smith will seek reelection for a three-year seat on the board of selectmen. Belinda Pert will seek reelection to a three-year term as tax collector

Angela Grindal and Michael Sheahan will seek reelection to two three-year seats on the town’s school committee.

As part of the annual town meeting process, elections will take place on Friday, March 2, and the remainder of the warrant articles will be taken up the following day, Saturday, March 3.
