Brooklin shop to host book signing, reception

Betsy’s Sunflower in Brooklin will host a book signing and reception to celebrate Aida, a new book by Brooklin marine historian Maynard Bray published by NOAH Publications and Herreshoff Marine Museum. The event takes place Sunday, December 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 12 Reach Road in the center of Brooklin village.

In Aida, Bray tells the story of “N.G. Herreshoff’s finest shallow draft yawl, Aida, from her original design, her 40 years in the Bray family, to her 2007 restoration by D. N. Hylan & Associates of Brooklin,” according to a news release. “The text is illustrated throughout with photographs from the collections of Bray and Benjamin Mendlowitz as well as original Herreshoff drawings.” Call 359-5030 for further information about this event.
