Sedgwick Elementary School - Back to school information

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4. The normal school day is from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Gym days are Tuesday and Thursday – children must have sneakers for gym class.

Meals
Student lunch is $2.30 with reduced lunches at 40¢. Extra milks and snack milks are 30¢ each.

Lunch menu for the first week of school:
Tuesday, 9/6 - stromboli, salad bar, fruit, milk
Wednesday, 9/7 - fish burger, salad bar, fruit, milk
Thursday, 9/8 - lasagna, roll, salad bar, fruit, milk
Friday, 9/9 - grilled chickenburger, roll, salad bar, fruit, milk
A September lunch menu will be sent home the first day of school.

New employees

Sedgwick Elementary School welcomes Jessica Valdez to be their new first grade teacher. For the last few years Jessica has been the Teacher/Flight Director for the Challenger Learning Center of Maine in Bangor. Jessica is a graduate of Husson University.

New School Union 76 school Superintendent

Mark Jenkins, a 25-year veteran principal and teacher, was hired as the new superintendent in June. Jenkins recently served as principal of Fort Fairfield High School for 12 years.

Students should be out at least 5 minutes earlier than the time for their pick-up. Students should not be running out the door at the last minute to catch the bus. This throws off the schedule for everyone after their stop. Be considerate and be on time. Questions should be directed to Darlene at 348-5237.
