Focus on Education
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4. School starts at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 2:50 p.m.. Administration Principal Allen Cole, 326-9421, allencole@penobscotschool.org Meals New Staff Katrina Dagan is our new physical education and health teacher. For the past 11 years she has lived in Castine with her husband, Craig. She has two children who attend the Adams School in Castine. She has a master’s degree in health education from Springfield College. Prior to becoming the school’s health and PE teacher, she coached volleyball and softball at Maine Maritime Academy. Pre-K Buses In the morning, Glen Ashe will start on the Back Ridge Road about 6:40. He’ll then go South along Rte. 15 to Marks Corner, return north along Rte. 15 to the Orland town line, south on Rte. 175 to Sedgwick town line, return north on Rte. 175 to school. In the afternoon his route is reversed. Charlie Deans (Castine bus) will pick up and drop off Dunbar Road students with pick up starting about 7:15 a.m. Drop off will be just after 3 p.m. High school students will change buses at PCS to board the appropriate high school bus, with transportation provided to GSA and BHS. Ashe’s bus does the GSA run in the morning and afternoon. Deans does the morning BHS run. Colson does the afternoon. Students who attend the Harbor School ride the GSA bus and walk from GSA to the Harbor School. Snapshot The school has six full-time and three part-time teachers, and nine support staffers.
