Two bands will provide the music for the annual Memorial Day parade in Blue Hill, Tuesday, sponsored by the American Legion.
Bands will be from Bucksport High School and the Blue Hill Consolidated School. Maj. Henry McTighe will be the parade marshal for the fifth consecutive year.
Forming at the Legion Hall at 10 a.m., the parade will move to the town bridge where a wreath will be dropped into the bay in memory of the Naval dead. The firing squad will fire a salute and Rev. Harold Andersen, Blue Hill Baptist Church, will offer a prayer.
The parade will then proceed to the Seaside Cemetery where another salute and tribute will be given. A wreath will be placed on the monument in memory of other war veterans and Rev. Donald Henderson of the Congregational Church will offer a prayer.
The parade will return to the Legion Hall by the return route. The Legion asks spectators to pay due respect to the passing flag.
Besides the bands, other groups scheduled to march include the Legion and Auxiliary, Gold Star Mothers, Boy and Girls Scouts and war veterans.
