Two represent academy at Boys’ and Girls’ State
The Weekly Packet, Celebrating our 50th year

Sam Woodward, Blue Hill, senior at Blue Hill George Stevens Academy, is this week attending Boys’ State at the University of Maine. Sponsored by the American Legion, Boys’ State is designed to give high school students experience in state government.

Miss Jane Gray, South Brooksville, is the Academy’s delegate to Girls’ State, held this week at Colby College. This program similar to that of Boys’ State, is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary.

Both students were chosen for their scholarship and character. Woodward has been active in basketball, track and FTA. Miss Gray is a cheerleader, active FHA member and a member of the National Honor Society.
