Millard Bowden home wins first prize
The Weekly Packet, Celebrating our 50th year

Mr. and Mrs. Millard Bowden, North Blue Hill, won $10 first prize in the Christmas lighting contest sponsored by the Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce. This is the first such contest held by the Chamber of Commerce in Blue Hill.

The Bowden’s “fairyland,” as one onlooker referred to it, is an array of holiday lights with a sleigh of presents.

Second prize went to Mrs. Grace Gillis; third to Mr. and Mrs. Phil Wessel; fourth to Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Carter; and fifth to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hinckley.

Honorable mention was awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Horton Emerson, J.V. Dethier, Mr. and Mrs. Sev Tucker and George Clay.

Dr. Henry K. Woodbrey, president, and judges were pleased with the effort put out by Mr. and Mrs. Bowden and wish to congratulate them.

Woodbrey hopes that next year the contest will grow and more people will enjoy it.
