The Golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hinckley, Blue Hill, will be observed at an open house Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at their home in Blue Hill. The couple was married at Bucksport by the Rev. William Forsythe, who had performed the marriage of Hinckley’s mother and father. Both Robert, 78, and his wife, Effie, 69, were born in Blue Hill. Since their marriage they have lived in the same house on Hinckley’s Corner. The house has been struck twice by lightning. Hinckley retied from carpentry in 1953. The couple had two children, Hulda (Hinckley) Bartlett and the late Robert Hinckley Jr. The couple’s grandchildren are Jane (Bartlett) Clapp and Nancy Bartlett, both of Blue Hill. The two great-grandchildren are Robert and Megan Clapp, Blue Hill. Mrs. Hinckley is a member of Eastern Star, Blue Hill Garden Club and the University of Maine Extension.
