Spirited team learns the game of softball
With a lot of local support, determined parents, and girls with unbeatable spirit, Blue Hill Little League welcomed a softball team this year. The Blue Hill Lady Bombers played as part of the minor league program with girls ages 7 to 12. These girls had to learn it all: hitting, fielding, pitching, sliding and, most importantly, teamwork. Volunteer coaches Haley Jenkins and Adam Gray helped the girls to learn the skills and build confidence in themselves and their team. Local businesses and community members made donations and, along with a bottle drive, helped to purchase equipment and uniforms and rejuvenate the school field. The team was sponsored by the Blue Hill IOOF Lodge #79, Yanni’s Pizza, Rackliffe Pottery, Carter/Wood Inc., and Mike’s Market 2. The Lady Bombers had a few wins, which helped the girls see their hard work pay off.
