Halcyon Grange project continues in North Blue Hill
The frigid temperatures aren’t affecting progress on the Halcyon Grange community kitchen project. “We kind of roll in all weather,” said grange member Phil Retberg, who is overseeing construction. “We’ve got some folks trying to source equipment and some people just waiting to get in there and work.” The North Blue Hill grange hall is $30,000 into its capital campaign to expand its kitchen to accommodate commercial production and winterize the entire hall. The goal is for the kitchen to be finished in time for the grange’s annual Easter dinner, Retberg said, but an open house will be held beforehand so people can “have their two cents heard.” Above, Nate Wasowicz, left, and Hugh Evan place shingles on the new addition.
