Painting “en plein air” in Blue Hill

Painting “en plein air” in Blue Hill

Painting an outdoor scene straight onto the canvas in the open air—or “plein air” painting—will be celebrated twice this summer. “Paint the Peninsula,” a Blue Hill Library fundraiser, is set for Saturday, July 20, while the first Castine Plein Air Festival takes place a week later on July 27. Both events have artists paint during the hours of sunrise to sunset, followed by an exhibit and sale of their work in the evening.
