Lord wins top medals at PVC championship

George Stevens Academy senior Jordan Lord came out on top at the Penobscot Valley Conference championships at Bucksport High School on January 26. After winning his first two matches, he met reigning state champion Forrest Law of Foxcroft for the 138-pound class PVC Class C title. In a battle that went into triple overtime Lord won an 11-9 victory and took home top honors—and the coaches MVP award for top wrestler of the conference. “One of the most exciting matches ever,” said GSA coach Jerome Lawther. “He went home with a medal and plaque.” Below, Lord wrestles to his second round victory against Seth Blais of Dexter. The team returns to Bucksport on Saturday, February 2, for the regionals.
