The 11-12-year-old Coastal All-Star Little League team, comprising players from Blue Hill, Penobscot, Castine and Surry, is heading to state-championship play on Saturday, July 21. The team recently won the District 1 Title. Coastal remained in the winners bracket by defeating Calais, Machias, Ellsworth and the MDI Acadians in recent weeks and will be one of six districts playing for the state title, vying for the chance to play in Regionals in Bristol, Conn. The state Little League Tournament is being hosted by the MDI Acadians. Opening ceremonies will be held Friday, July 20, at 5 p.m. Coastal’s first game of the tournament will be Saturday, July 21, at 1 p.m. The field is located at Park and Main streets in Bar Harbor, across from the YMCA.
