Pug Jamboree in Surry
Donned in costumes ranging from animals to food, pugs and their owners from as far away as Orono headed for the second annual Pug Jamboree on Saturday, October 20. The event was hosted by Eric Treworgy and Karl Homes, owners of Pugnuts Ice Cream Shop in Surry. Activities included a pug race, pug costume contest, pug kissing both, and toilet paper toss. The event also featured a few local organizations raising money for worthy causes. Steel band “Planet Pan” provided the music for Saturday afternoon’s event.
A Pug of Many Varieties

Pug Sam with owner Grace Kane of Hancock Point participates in the pug costume contest while surrounded by other participants, some in costumes. Kane said that her pug Sam is training to be a service dog and will soon be able to visit hospitals and nursing homes.
