Packet Sports Spotlight

The GSA boys tennis team is at the top of its game heading into postseason. With 5-0 wins in its last three matches (Dexter, Orono and Sumner), the team is #1 in the Heal Point standings. First doubles team Luke Theoharidis (left) and Ed Lameyer post an 8-2 win on May 17 against Orono; Tate Yoder, playing third doubles, wins 8-0. On the girls’ side, E Zhang hits against Orono at the Blue Hill Country Club. With recent wins against Orono, Dexter and Sumner, the girls are at #5 heading into post season. The first prelim matches will be held on May 28 with home court advantage for both teams.

Meredith Torrey pitches to an Ellsworth High School student during a game on May 16. GSA lost the game, 13-1. The softball team is currently in 10th place in the Heal Point Standings, with a 4-7 record. There are still several games left to play this season, a few of which have been delayed due to rainy weather.
